Ziggy is the numero-uno: the uber-grand-daddy of all my robots, and though he isn’t the most sophisticated fellow, he’s got the right spirit, and I am still proud of him to this day.

My MIT friends say that smart folks keep a rubber duck on their desk: It was discovered that by explaining things out loud to someone else often allowed tricky problems to get solved – often without the other person getting a word in. The duck acts as a substitute for a human listener. Ziggy is my such duck. To date this is the only robot that I have kept for myself.
